Hi. Bleeding during or after sex is a relatively common occurrence that can have many causes, most of which are not serious or dangerous. Bleeding after sexual intercourse (also called "post-coital bleeding") is not rare and it is observed that up to 10% of women have had this at some point in their lives. The most common cause of bleeding after a girl's first sexual intercourse is the rupture of the hymen The hymen is a thin membrane covering the vaginal canal. During your first sexual encounter, it may rupture due to penetration. This rupture may cause some bleeding which will not occur with subsequent sexual acts. You have not mentioned if it is first time u had sex and bleeding after that. If it is first time then no worries. If it recurs with every sexual act then u should consult a doctor and get yourself evaluated for any other problem. Wish u good health.
