Hi there
IS often see such kids with repeated cough. In adults it doesnot need tests for TB but in kids it is often related to tonsils adenoids or allergy..
With backgrund of birth history there is a possibility of chronic lung issues which often need specific evaluations like CT chest and specific therapy.
Asthma is another common cause of such cough. Symptoms need to be charted for a month on a breathig diary ( easily available in google search, )to reach to such diagnosis.
Do not hesitate to call or refer back.
Thanks
i want to know her weight gain pattern. then if she has allergy to dust, pollens and smoke? whether anybody in your family having tuberculosis? did you take xray chest and mantoux. if she is a healthy child with good appetite and weight gain, it may be allergic/wheezy cough. sometimes viral illness/pertussis kind of illness can present with persistent cough.
