Small Child, Having Reddish Orange Colored Stools With White And Yellow Specks. Treatment?
can blood in stool be reddish orange ish in color. my sons diaper has stool that has reddish orange spots along with white/yellow small specks of im not sure what. the yellow/white specks i noticed a few days ago. the reddish orange spots i just noticed today and i havent fed him anything orange in color in the last few days

Stool color varies in a small child over a period. the usual color is yellow but by 6 months it generaly turns brown. Having a single episode of reddish orange stool is not pathological (its due to a substance called porphyrin in stool), white or yellow specks are the undigested milk that come out. do not fear, its not unusual. bleeding in stool (red) or black colored stool are only dangerous and pathological. As long as the baby is asymptomatic, do not worry.
