Small Child, High Fever, Sore Throat, White Blisters On Tonsils, Swollen Gums. Strep Throat?

I took my 3 yr old daughter to the ER 2 nights ago as was having a 102.3 temp and sore throat . The doctor said she has strep throat as she saw white blisters on her tonsils but did not test her. Gave her Amoxicillin , the fever comes and goes and throat still hurts yet now her gums are red and swollen and has slightly bad breath. Is this strep?
