Small Patch Of Numbness To Left Big Toe With Slight Swelling
Last week, I noticed a small patch of numbness to on my left big toe, with a slight swelling. I placed ice on it an rubbed looking for any knots or kinks. I woke up to my toe being swollen and a small pain. I elavated my foot the rest of the day and swelling went down. still felt numbness. so I soaked in Epsom Salt and has it has improved. Should I be concern ???
The symptoms are suggestive of an acute attack of gout, which occurs due to deposits of urate crystals in the joint(s), particularly the great toe.
Get your Blood uric acid levels done, which are likely to be high.
Regular intake of uric-acid lowering drug will prevent recurrence of a gouty attack and retard progression of the disease.
Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me, order blood workup and will prescribe the advised drugs in appropriate doses.
