Small Purple Bruises Where Needle Was Inserted For Test. Swelling, Pain In Hand And Wrist. Should I Visit ER?
Hi I had a blood test done 6 days ago on Monday. There were about three small spots where the needle had gone in (underside of left elbow.). It.was a small purple bruise the first few days but has started to spread into a green-blue circle, and today my wrist started aching a bit and within about fifteen minutes my hand started swelling a bit, especially between the thumb and first finger. Do you think I should go to urgentcare? What could they do for it? Thank you!
Please take an anti inflammatory tablet like combiflam.
Also do some hot fomentation.
The blue color is due to extravasation of blood under skin.
It will heal slowly.
If you dont get relief in 2 days you can meet a doctor.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you
