Small, Sore Lump Between Thigh And Groin. Suggest

hi i noticed yesterday a small lump between my right thigh and groin in that crevasse and i dont know what it is. its like a hard ball on what feels like a tendon or something. i am an athlete and it makes it feel tight and sore. a trainer took a quick check and said it was a swollen gland from shaving but it feels like its on a tendon and is sore to the touch. what should i do?

Hello..Thanks for your query.
There is a possibility that this is a boil or a Folliculitis ( infection of hair follicle ) by bacteria.
Treatment includes :
1)Drainage of pus
2)Warm compresses
3)Saline wash to clean the area
4)Application of antibiotic ointment like Mupirocin ,Fusidic acid etc two-three times per day.
5)Oral antibiotics may be required
6)Anti-inflmmatory medications to relieve pain /swelling etc.
You must visit a dermatologist to assess the same.Avoid friction and wear loosely fitted clothes till this heals completely.
