Soft And Raised Area Over Sternum, Moves When Pressed. Is It Sternal Lipomas?
A co-worker noticed a soft, raised area over my sternum today. It is soft and does move when pressed. She thought it was the thymus, but another medical person said that it would not be palpable if it was the thymus, because the thymus is behind the sternum. I am 65 y.o. I have read that sternal lipomas occur later in life. I don't want to panic, but I don't want to ignore it. I also don't want massive co-pays for testing.
HI Thank for asking to HCM Just keep an eye on it particularly, the size, and tenderness,if the size increases and becomes tender then see the surgeon, in such cases the clinical examination is very important with the help of this we can diagnosed the case clinically, have nice day.
