Solution To Cure Dandruff Problem With Very Oily Scalp And Fungal Growth

hello.. My name is Deepika. I have severe dandruff problem for more than 6 years. I have used lot of anti dandruff shampoos. But those give me remedy only on that day. Immediately after one day, again i get the dandruff. It is not a dry scalp for me. It is very oily and fungal growth. I consulted with a doctor and he suggested me to use KZ solutuion, It too works only when i use it continuously. when i stop using that after a month, with in a week again i face the same problem. And also all those anti dandruff shampoos made my hair very dry. so give me a better solution to get cure from this dandruff and to have a soft and silky hair.

Hi Deepika,
Though KZ is a standard and effective treatment for dandruff currently several fungal infections have become resistant to it. You could try oxiconazole lotion which you need to apply overnight and shampoo next day. I would recommend you to also shampoo three times a week atleast since your scalp is oily. Dandruff shampoos will dry your hair out so use it once a week and at other times use a normal shampoo with conditioner whatever suits you. Also you need to get the dandruff scales tested whether it is actually fungal or not (scalp psoriasis can also cause scales) and for that you need a dermatologist. There is a test called KOH mount by which they can see the fungus under the microscope or alternatively you could go for a fungal culture and sensitivity...all this can be done by the dermatologist. If fungal infection is confirmed you could go for antifungal tablets like fluconazole 150mg once a week for 4 weeks. However this medication should be used with caution as in if you are married and planning a pregnancy or already pregnant it is not recommended. Please consult a dermatologist before you go for fluconazole.
Hope this helps.
