Sore Lower Eyelid, Swelling In Lower Corner Of Eyelid. Warm Wash Cloth Does Not Help. Cure?
When I woke up yesterday the corner of my lower eyelid was a little sore when I blinked. As the day progressed the lower corner of the eyelid started to get a little puffy and pink. When I cleaned my face with water yesterday the water stung my eye. My eye was not itchy or irritated (besides the soreness) yesterday. Today my eye itches, it is more swollen and irritated. I tried a warm washcloth on my eye today but I didn t do anything. Do I need to see an eye doctor if this does not go away by tomorrow?
Hi
You appear to be having inflammation of the eyelid. Apart from itching if this is painful then it is most likely to be infection or inflammation of the glands within the eyelid e.g. Stye. You may start antibiotic drops but at the same time if inflammation continues then you would require oral medications which can be started consulting consulting doctor. Dry foment ation is not preferred moist fomentation is preferred.
