Sore Lump Under The Armpit. What Could This Be And Should I Consult A Doctor?
My ten year old son just showed me a quarter sized lump in his armpit and there is a bruising around it and very sore to touch. He said it had been there about a week and he thought it would go away. No temp oe illness. What could this be? Should he go to er?
There is a possibility that the lump in his armpit which is sore to touch is probably an abscess which has developed or maybe a swollen lymph node which is probably infected now.
Armpit is an area where there is constant sweating and due to the warm and moist area can be prone to infections.
He should definitely have it evaluated by his doctor since it may need draining (if its an abscess) or just antibiotics.
