Sore Throat On One Side, Hurts To Talk, No Fever. Painkillers Help
Hi I have a sore throat just on one side. I ve had it for a week now. It feels better with painkillers but obviously thats joy a cure. It actually hurts more if I ve been talking for a while. I don t habr an fever or anynother symptoms really, apart from occasionally needing to clear my throat. It s not unbearable but it is sore
The painkillers have actually masked the symtoms where as the microbes (??Streptococcal sore throat)would have successfully lodged inside , may make you a carrier of infection. The sore usually starts on one side and spreads to the other side.
Kindly take a course of antibiotic and also do Betadine/Antisceptic mouth gargling thrice a day.
Abstain from refrigerated food and drinks.Do not smoke if you are smoker.
A throat swab culture/routine blood counts/urinalysis if the sore persists.
Consult the ENT Surgeon if there is no abatement of symptoms.
Wishing you a quick recovery,
Best Regards,
Dr Lt Cdr ASN Bhushan.
