Doctor my Daughter is suffering from SMA Type 3 . She is about 5 years old. kindly suugest any homoeopathic or any other treatments regarding this Disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy [SMA TYPE 3] i am really upset due to my child. this type conofirm by AIIMS Hospital Delhi Genatic Department, he tested of my daughter blood , then he confirm my daughter effect SMA Type 3

There has been research going on about the treatment options for spinal muscular atrophy.95% of patients with SMA have a mutated or missing gene called SMN1 which produces SMN protein.There is another gene SMN2 which can produce the protein but it is inhibited by a small sequence in the gene which inhibits it.This sequence can be overcome by a small antisense nucleotide which will allow SMN2 to produce normal amount of SMN protein.Ravindra singh of Iowa university has been doing the research and the initial results are encouraging .This could possibly cure Spinal muscular atrophy.Another treatment option is Valproate which also induces SMN2 partially.
