Sporadic Chest Pain, Suspicion Of Microvascular Angina. What Could Be The Case?
Hi, I have had chest pain on and off since August. I am a 30yr old male. I was told that I had damage to my heart in August. Since then I have been rushed into hospital about 6 times. Tests have not showed much but my sister in law a former army cardiologist suggested it could be microvascular angina? Could this be the case?
Micro-vascular angina is possible – but more often, it is a diagnosis by exclusion.
A thallium stress treadmill exercise test may help.
Coronary angiogram (may be even with provocative tests) is generally needed to exclude obvious and easily treatable large artery lesions.
Cardiomyopathy may need to be excluded.
Rather than rushing each time, you ought to have planned visits and appropriate investigations – to arrive at proper diagnosis. Because, proper treatment depends on proper diagnosis.
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
