Stage 4 Lung Cancer Patient. Chemo Treatment Done, Feeling Tired, Shortness Of Breath. Chances Of Recovery?
I am a patient with stage 4 lung cancer. It is in one lung and there are some spots in my liver but the cancer doesn't show up anywhere else in my body. They found it last December and told me I had 1 to 2 years to live. They gave me Chemo treatment the next week and I did fine except for loosing my hair. I have since had 3 CAT scans and the tumors have either shrunk or are dormant. I take that as really good news. I still feel good some days and the other days I am just tired and I have shortness of breath for which I take some oxygen. I smoked cigarettes for 40 or so years but when I decided to quit I just laid them down and haven't taken a puff on 1 since. That has been almost 6 years now. I have never coughed or wheezed, even when I smoked. I was just checking on some of the meds I am taking and I thought it just might be a good idea to consult with another Dr. about my condition. My Onocologist tells me they can't operate and I really am having trouble understanding his explanation why. I am just trying to maybe find other answers. I am a Christian so I know where I'm going after this life but I also think my God would expect me to research some earthly MD's. Whats some of your thoughts?
5 year survival for non small cell lung cancer is only 2% and for small cell lung cancer is only 1% Once lung cancer has spread to other distant parts of your body as in your case it has spread to liver there is no benefit for operation. If u are having shortness of breath then Tab Asthalin 4 mg thrice daily after food may help.U can also have steam inhalation twice daily. For tiredness Tab zincovit once daily after food may help. Regards and take care.
