Started To Take A Statin Which Caused Smelly Stools. Side Effects Of Statin?
I had just started to take a statin and right away had problems with loose, smelly stools and had to be careful not to cough because I would/could have an accident! It also seemed like I couldn't total empty/finish going with one visit to the bathroom. I stopped taking it a week ago and today my problem is just about gone. It also seemed to make me blotted and somewhat gassy.
With that all being said, it didn't help matters that I just started a new job this week so I felt I couldn't really be comfotable and concentrate on my new duties. Could it have been the statin?

These kinds of symptoms are rarely seen in statins, even if they occur tolerance develops to these symptoms after prolonged use and won't be bothersome. The advantage and benefit of taking statins outweigh the occasional side effects of it.
