Stringy, Fleshy, Pink Discharge With Itching And Cramping. Have The Tubes Tied. What Does This Indicate?

I have had my tubes tied for over 2yrs. I'm due for my period on the 28th(in two days) but tonight I noticed spotting so I figured it was my period starting. I then saw what appeared to be stringy, bright pink discharge(looked like tissue or stringy meat). This was all accompanied by cramps and slight itching. I did have a yeast infection two weeks ago. It has me very worried as this has never happened before. Is this normal for a period or could it be something else? My periods have been pretty irregular in the past year or so. I'm 31 and have 3 children, Im also slightly overweight.
