Suffer From Kidney Stones. Inflamed Skin Tag In The Anus. What Is It
I am 42 yr old woman no health problems other than a random kidney stone attack. During my last pregnancy I developed a small skin tag over my anus *thought it was a hemorroid* I have had it since then and every few months it balloons up, gets one tender spot almost like a pimple and then breaks. No pain ever just a little irritation right before it pops. The fluid is clear with no smell. My family doctor looked at it done a quick internal and said there is a small ridge, sent me to a surgeon/specialist *it popped the morning of my appointment* he said he wanted to see it while it was inflamed. Every appointment since *waiting lists to see specialists are brutal* the dang thing has popped within days. Went to family doctor again last week and she gave me another referral but lo and behold the thing popped again today. I am getting really annoyed with it because it is a big turn off for my husband not to mention the fact that it's quite embarrassing when it pops at work and I have to go around like I've wet my pants up my back too. Any ideas? I asked the surgeon/specialist if they could possibly band it or something I mean if it's a skin tag that fill wouldn't that remedy part of it?? And I assume that since it has been there for 9 year it can't be anything too bad since numerous Dr's have seen and poked at the area!
Hi thanks for writing to healthcare magic. It seems to be infected pilonidal sinus. It is usually due to ingrowing hair OR truama at the site of affection.Infected sinus is known as pilonidal abcesses. It produces pus and watery discharge. It needs to be drained, or lanced, to help it resolve. Like other boils, it does not usually improve with antibiotics alone. There are number procedures available, but the preferred technique is incision and drainage of the sinus, removing the hair follicles, and packing the cavity with gauze. You need to see a surgeon for this.I hope this can solve your query.Take care.
