Suffer Heavy Bleeding. Had Blood Transfusion. On Mirena Coil. Discharge Sign Of Infection? Suggestions?
Hi, i've suffered constant heavy bleeding since 27th Nov '12 through til 4th June '13 with only 13 days clear somewhere in the middle. Very heavy bleeding with almost daily flooding, I had a 2 unit blood transfusion on the 1st June which was followed on the 4th June by a hysteroscopy, biopsies and placement of Mirena coil. I had heavy bleeding for 2 weeks following the coil but over the last 5 days have been having only a brown discharge. Does this sound about right for the coil or is the discharge a sign of infection? Thank you very much for your advice.

hi.. thanks for using HCM.. you had severe menorrhhagia, which needed blood transfusion.. you have put on progesteron releasing intrauterine contraceptive.. this will act locally to reduce the bleeding and change in the colour of discharge.. the infection is common with intrauterine contraceptive device, if there is poor hygiene.. maintain good genital hygiene.. see your gynaecologist for getting treatment of this infection.. all the very best.
