Viral encephalitis occurs due to an infection of brain due to a virus, usually herpes simplex. Once a patient recovers from the acute phase, recovery continues over time. Levipil (levetiracetam) is a good anti-seizure medication and it should be continued. Abdominal pain and hernia are unrelated to viral encephalitis. Please consult a general surgeon for opinion and treatment.
I hope it helps.
