Hello,
Is it a
disc prolapse or is it the procedure done over your friend.
Because PIVD is a procedure done over the
cervical spine where there is fusion done to avoid having compression of the spinal nerves passing through that region. Once the pressure is released the symptoms reduce or either subside completely.
Post which some simple
physical therapy session for strengthening the weaker group of muscles will be advised.
Avoiding chiropractors will be of utmost importance as it may lead to damage to the procedure done already in a similar region.
In the initial stages, there needs a
bed rest so that the body's physiological mechanism allows the healing to take place without leading to any other symptoms.
In bed, simple ankle toe movements and knee flexion-extension can be performed without having any additional pressure on the cervical spine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
