Suffering From IBS And Have Loss Of Appetite However Motions Are Normal. What Could This Indicate?
I have IBS and it has been under control pretty good. But the last 2 weeks have been stressful and I have the stomach to prove it, IBS that is. I workout a lot, but haven't been eating much because of the cramping and diarrhea. My question is how can I be pooping so much when I'm not eating much. What exactly is coming out? Or where is it coming from? I can't make up the calories that I'm using during the day if I can't eat. I need to take in at least 1500 calories. I can't even do that.
Intestines are never empty. Even if you do not eat for a day or two, still there is a digested food from few days before. Moreover there is constantly secreted bile (about 1,5 liter/24 hours), pancreas acid (about 2 liters), stomach acid. Intestines cells constantly produce mucus. Some part of this products is absorbed again to blood stream but some create stool. Diarrhea contains lots of water because due to some reason (infection, inflammation) could not be absorbed so it goes out with the stool.
Hope this will help. Regards.
