Her physical activity is minimum, staying in a hostel her actions are quite restricted. She has unwante hair growth, feels sleepy all the time, lethargic but good at studies. Kindly advice me what i should do?
In this scenario, your daughter needs complete health check up with relevant investigation like USG pelvis (to assess ovarian cyst), Thyroid profile, LH/ FSH, blood prolactin & sugar test, blood testosterone & DHEAS level etc.
Following above test reports, you need to consult with gynecologist for suggestive measures. Combined OCP with anti-androgenic drug therapy is widely used to treat PCOD. Laser therapy may useful to control abnormal hair growth.
Low carbohydrate diet, moderate to heavy exercise for wt reduction and supportive medication are the key element. Try to avoid stress and take healthy diet with complete avoidance of fatty/ junk food.
