Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. GERD can cause irritation and allergy due to laryngopharyngeal reflux. This can irritate the whole upper respiratory tract. Taking proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole ( Nexium ) , motility enhancers like domperidone , anti histamines like levocetirizine and mast cell stabilzers like monteleukast for long term will be helpful for this. Avoid irritating foods like fatty, greasy and junk foods. Carbonated drinks, coffee, alcohol and smoking should be avoided also. Have dinner at least 2 hours before bed time.
