sir, my mother is a blood pressure patient, she s also suffering from allergic asthma due to GERD accompanied with coughing ALONGWITH SECRETIONS COMING OUT OF THE THROAT AND NOSE.PLEASE RECOMMEND PROPER CURE AS SHES COMPLAINING THIS ALLERGY AGAIN AND AGAIN.MAINLY WHEN THE SEASON CHANGES.

Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. GERD can cause irritation and allergy due to laryngopharyngeal reflux. This can irritate the whole upper respiratory tract. Taking proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole ( Nexium ) , motility enhancers like domperidone , anti histamines like levocetirizine and mast cell stabilzers like monteleukast for long term will be helpful for this. Avoid irritating foods like fatty, greasy and junk foods. Carbonated drinks, coffee, alcohol and smoking should be avoided also. Have dinner at least 2 hours before bed time. Raise the head end more with additional pillows while sleeping.
