My 13 year old daughter is very sleepy all the time latley. Last week she had a bad soar throat and swollen glands, it lasted only a few days. Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bad sore throat and swollen glands well these symptoms are due to sinusitis and upper respiratory tract infection. It can occur due to viral as well as bacterial infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist without any delay for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antiviral or antibacterial drugs depending upon the diagnosis along with anti inflammatory or decongestants . For now do warm saline gargles several times a day. Maintain proper hygiene and drink plenty of fluids.
