Suffering From Insomnia. Prescribed Lyrica But It Has Side Effects. Is This The Correct Treatment?

my daughter louise was very down and found it hard to sleep, she went very quite and stopped going to college, she went to doctor and he perscribed a sleeping tablet that didnt work,
she went back again and he put her on lyrica,,,she is finding a lot of side effects from it,, i researched it and it said it was for cronic pain etc,, it didnt say anything about not being able to sleep,, why did he give her this drug,??

I am so sorry to hear about the side effects your daughter has experienced from this medication. For sure, I cannot tell why the doctor prescribed this drug but I am sure he has reasons for it. I will suggest that you talk directly to him and understand why. Also, report the side effects to him so that he can review them and make the necessary changes if need be.

Her symptoms seem to be suggestive of depression. Ids there any raeson why you think she could not be feeling very happy with herself? if you think she has mood changes, please consult a psychiatrist to get her evaluated for possible depression.
