I have been suffering from reumatoid arthrities for a one year. Doctors recommend steroid but my query is that these are harmful for body? Is there any medicines which has no side effects to treat reumatoid arthiritis? For example, i visited recently to a doctor who recommended folitrex 7.5 mg but it has many side effects? So kindly advice me which medicines I should take because allopathic medicines have side effect? kindly suggest?
Unfortuately every medication has potential side effects, however it is important to remember the side effects of drugs are possible and may or may not actually occur.
Patients treated with the 10 mg dose have half the side effects of those treated with the 20 mg a day dose. In general less side effects occur with the lower doses.
The potential short term side effects include: weight gain, low potassium, mood changes , stomach upset and increase risk of stomach ulcers, psychosis, increase in blood sugar, increase in blood pressure
