Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a client in a group home who has been receiving ECT treatments. She gets bouts of diarrhea and noticed the past two weeks she got diarrhea 2 days after the treatment. Her diarrhea is violent.... unable to make the bathroom and can have it as quickly as 20 minutes apart. She also says she has nausea during these episodes, Could this be happening because of ect... that is my question.
Hello Thank for choosing HCM ECT is electrical therapy that can not induce the diarrhea, if this is the passing of stool more than 4 to 5 time (Watery diarrhea ) then it could be due to food poising, allergic condition or infection but most of the diarrhea does not need any treatment and it is the self limiting, ECT can not induces the diarrhea, hope this information helps.
