Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suffering With Bouts With Severe Pain In The Right Leg & Buttocks
I had a pelivic lymph node dissection done in november 2013 due to a recurrance of malignant melanoma and am only now suffering with bouts of severe pain in the entire right leg and buttocks. It comes on at any time and last about 10 minutes if I can sit down and not do anything. The pain begins in my groin, where I had a SNB done back in 2011. This is the most painful site. Is this down to nerve damage or should I be worried that he cancer may be lurking about in there somewhere? If there are no nodes left (all groin and pelvic nodes removed) why would it hurt in those areas? I am not due to see anyone until March at the hospital. many thanks.
It could be nerve pain due to irritation in your lumbar spine. Well, most of the patients respond to conservative management.
Before suggesting you any treatment I would like to know more about your symptoms.
What did you do for your daily living? How much physical activity is there in your daily routine?
How much distance you are able to walk? Try to walk on your toes and then heels- are you able to do it comfortably? Have you noticed any difficulty in urination recently?
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Anuj Gupta, Spine Surgeon
