hye doctor, i m diana ...i wanna ask about the good diet for diabetic patient...my grandma diagnose with diabetic foot ...too much facts in the internet about the suitable diet for her...some doctor ask to take eggs and milk in improving her wound..but some not allow to take that things..how about you doctor...?what the eggs actually contain?even white or yellow egg?which is one contain cholestrole, protein or vice versa..and what the other diet that good or bad..i need it clear..

Total calorie content and their derivation from proximate principles of diet.
* Fibre content.
*Glycaemic index.
* Consistency and physical from of food.
Calories intake for sedentary person 20 to 25 Kcal/kg IBW(Ideal body weight)
Carbohydrates- calories 60to 65%
Proteins - calories 15to 20%
Fats - caloreis 15 to 25%
Cereals, roots and pulses are rich in such complex carbohydrates
Rapidly absorbed sugars and foods containing monosaccharides raise the blood sugar faster and thus have a high glycaemic index
Proteins in general increase glucagon secretion as well. One gram of protein provides four calories of energy. An adult requires a minimum of 0.8 g of protein per kilogram of body weight .
The total calorie intake from fats must not exceed 20% to 30%. Saturated fat, PUFA and MUFA are provided in a ratio of 1:1:1.
Egg white can be taken yellow should be avoided as it is high in calories and high incholesterol.
Keep her blood sugar level under control and with proper medicines ,she should improve soon.
