Suggest Lisinopril Dosage Before Knee Surgery

My 15 yr old son takes 20 mg of Lisinopril usually before bed time. Last night he forgot so he took it this morning at 7 am. My question is should he take a dose tonight? He is scheduled for knee surgery in the morning so we want his blood pressure to be ok for that

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Lisinopril is normally only be used once daily with the maximum once daily dose of 40mg a day,if this dose is needed.

This am dose would cover him till tomorrow am. His doctor may indicate that he would not be able to use his dose on the morning of surgery because of nil per mouth for general surgery.
If this is not the case then he may be able to use an am dose, but you would need to consult his doctor prior.

They will monitor his blood pressure during the procedure and give him medication if needed.

I hope this helps
