Suggest OTC Medications For Extreme Bouts Of Diarrhea And Constipation

I have a gastroenterology appointment in 2 weeks. I am having increasing difficulties with IBS/IBD or something similar. I would like to know if there is anything to keep me from the extremes of diarrhea and constipation that I can buy over the counter that won t cause other harm to my system.

The most useful OTC remedies are bulk forming agents such as metamucil
and probiotics such as Align. Both can be used individually or together. Bulk forming agents should be taken with meals. They are both safe . Generic types can be used.
