Suggest A Diet Plan For A 92-year-old Diagnosed With Pseudogout
My mom was recently diagnosed with pseudogout. I m trying to get all info on what she s allowed to eat and what she s not. My mom is 92 years old and I m trying for her not to have another flare up. Please tell me the food she s allowed to eat or point me in the right direction.
Gout is a disease associated with eating a lot of red meat and shellfish. So, I recommend avoiding this type of food.
I recommend drinking lots of fluids – 8 to 16 cups a day. I also recommend eating low-fat and non-dairy fat products, like yogurt and skim milk, fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts, and grains.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
