Suggest A Medicine For Itching In Hands And Legs

45 years old, overall healthy male, I have been experiencing for a couple of weeks now, a light sensation of localized itching on my arms, soemetimes shoulders and sometimes upper legs, only during the day and only after I get dressed. The itching It feels like waves during the day it comes and goes but always very light to mild and always the same zones. The sensation lessens and disappears when I come back home from work, especially when I undress and it disappears completely when I relax in the house and get in bed to sleep. Can you please suggest what I should do? Thanks

Hello,

Itching that is localized or occurs in certain parts of the body commonly is due to pruritis, allergy, contact dermatitis or psoriasis, etc. It looks like allergy due to sweat, pollen, dry skin, irritants (chemicals, metals, etc), scabies or body lice. You are suggested to take a warm bath regularly, keep your skin moisturised, keep humidifier. Reduce stress, avoid scratching. Maintain your hygiene.

You can apply Soframycin cream in the areas affected. Cortico-steroid based creams and ointments are effective. If it's scabies, you can apply Ascabiol lotion in the area affected. Keep it for half an hour and take a shower thereafter. It should go if its scabies. Repeat after 15 days. However you are suggested to get examined by a dermatologist and get clinically examined. If sexually active you can get STD test done to stay on the safer side.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
