Suggest A Remedy For Severe Pain In Tooth Due To Infection

I was told a few months back I would need a root canal. Newly having a job, I ignored this. Now I lost my job due to Celiacs Sprue triggering. And I now have no health insurance. I'm getting pains in my jaw and clicking when opening it. And now random nausea from no where. I'm scared that I won't be able to get this fixed with no insurance. Is there any way I can buy time with no insurance?

Hello,
This indicates that you have an active, untreated infection. Antibiotics can help control the spread of the infection and calm down an acute reaction, but treatment needs to follow. If you can not proceed with the root canal and restoration, your other option is to extract the tooth.
Immediate relief and some reduction of inflammation may be possible by taking acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Antibiotics require a prescription. If your pain is severe, you will need to see a dentist or visit an emergency room. A tooth can have a medicated temporary placed to start to treat the infection. This is the initial stage of a root canal and will give you relief. This will allow some more time to make completing the root canal possible. Do not be fooled into thinking that if it does not hurt, you can continue to delay treatment. Your tooth can decay to a point that it can no longer be restored.
Thank you for your inquiry. I hope you will be able to keep the tooth and proceed with a root canal. I am available to answer additional questions.

Hello and thanks for consulting HCM.
i have gone through your query.celiac sprue is an autoimmune disorder of the small intestine caused mainly by gluten protein present in wheat.effective treatment is a gluten-free diet.
according to your case as you mentioned you needed a root canal treatment (RCT).if the tooth is infected its better not to delay the treatment.

meanwhile you can do certain things.if i were your treating doctor i would advice you not to put hard pressure on that tooth.avoid very cold and hot stuff.maintain proper oral hygiene.a course of antibiotic like cefexime 200 and for pain painkiller like aceclofenac plus paracetamol will help.

hope this answer helps

Regards
Dr. Shesh
