Suggest A Treatment For Prostrate Enlargement In A 78 Year Old
my father aged 78 yrs. old has prostate enlargement around 2cm. and also my father has undergone engioplasty and pacemaker surgery. i want to know that whether he required cyst0- turp surgery or not. BPH-BOO. DOCTOR GAVE HIM TABLETS LIKE ALFUSIN-10MG AND ONE GELUSIL CAPSULE OF .5MG FOR SHRINKING THAT ENLARGED PART. AND ALSO HE HAS UNDERGONE ULTRASOUND AND UROFLOW CHECK IT REVEALS LO FLOW AND LO VOLUME AND ULTRASOUND ALSO REVEALS SOME URINE REMAINS IN BLADDER AFTER EMPTYING.
IF OPERATION REQUIRED WHAT IS THE URGENCY. AND ALSO WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THESE CAUSE.
Thank you for trusting HCM. As per medical history and clinical assessment of your father this is a case of BHP. But one must exclude the prostate CA before anything else. How long he has this problem? BHP is an age related condition and the case of this is non-cancerous enlargement of gland surrounding male urethra. It case low flow and bladder in not emptied after every void. If medical treatment is not satisfactory then go for surgery as it is the treatment and also make patient risk free from any chance of future prostate carcinoma. It patient need surgery and fit for it then one must go for it. If surgery not possible patient should be on catheter and urine bag.
Regards!
