Suggest Alternate Medication For Seroquel 200mg

Hi. My boyfriend is taking Seroquel XR 200 mg. He has run out of medication and does not have a current refill. We have contacted his doctor about this, but she has not gotten back to us. He has an old prescription of general Seroquel (non XR) 100mg. Do you have any guidance about what we can do?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi.

I had done through your query.

Seroquel contain quitipine.

If you are on it since long and you have taken up to 200 mg then it is difficult to substitute it.

If you are better on treatment then it is advisable not to change drug.

If we replaced with another then it might be possible that you will face same psychological symptoms again.

So consult psychiatrist and he will mange for you.

I hope i have answered your query.

Thank you
