Suggest Alternate Medicine For Diabetes Other Than Victoza
My husband had a 2 way bypass 2010 shortly there after found out had diabetes he takes meds for them but his sugar/A1c have been a little high. They put him on victoza .06 4 weeks ago.It has worked fantastic on sugar but he has got this cough and congestion sounds like he has a really bad cold all time. Have heard possible side effect of med. He is a truck driver and won t be seeing his doc for another 3 weeks should he discontinue and monitor his levels. Is there any other meds that are possible to replace and assist with the diabetis.
Cold symptoms like blocked and stuffy nose, sore throat, sneezing and cough can be side effects of Victoza and it ought to get better with discontinuing the same. The first line medicine for diabetes is metformin and now extended release tablets are available with once a dose and much less gastrointestinal side effects. He should monitor his blood sugars regularly preferably before morning food and 2 hours after lunch. If you have further queries, I am available to answer. Dr. Noble Zachariah
