Suggest Alternate Remedy For Coughing
Dear Doctor, i am male 58, and on meds for hypertension for over 25 years , (dilzem sr-Arkamine-Telma 40-clavix) had radical prostatectomy done in 2005 and on calutide 50 + leuprolide depot inj once every quarter for the past 4 yrs. psa =.001 over the period. I am also on Diamicron mr-30 for the past three years i am affected by cold ,cough and wheezing often,(at least twice an year Since the last one week the cold cough wheezing is back and i am given Warclav twice a day,Ascoril syrup and derephyline for the past three days. a lot of phlegm is coming out and i am somewhat better. But the cough is much straining and tires me. is int there a preventive to this periodic suffering.

Noted your history of operated cancer prostate with normal PSA, hypertension taking many medicines with Clavix too, there is periodical cough, cold and wheezing, twice a year, given Deriphylline Ascoril, the cough is still straining, wants to know alternative treatment.
Since the coughing and cold with wheezing is periodical means this is allergic and thus the basic rule of management of such a problems is prevention.
Identify the atmospheric factors, foods, beverages, pollen around, dust, mites, mold, mildew, fungi, plastic, scents and so on that instigate or enhance the problems and avoid these at any cost so that the attack is not started.
Prevention is better than cure.
Your treatment with Deriphylline, Ascoril and whichever your Doctor has given is correct.
Discuss about oral and topical steroids and get prescribed for early and complete recovery.
Start the treatment even on a slight instigation to avoid further deveopment.
