Suggest Alternative Medication To Replace Mintop For Alopecia Areata
Hi, i am a male of 24 yrs and have alopecia areata. This condition started just 2 months ago and has caused me much stress. Recentely i have stared applying Mintop Forte 5% as advised in its leaflet. Its been 2 weeks and no sign of improvement. Should i change the topical medicine or wait for a bit longer say a month to see visible results. Have done my fair share of research on this condition and know very well there is no cure for it as it is an autoimmune disease. What i need is experienced advice in this matter. Thanking you in advance. Please do reply soon.
Hi. As per your case history of alopecia aerata, my treatment advice is - 1. Take good nutritious diet full of green leafy vegetables and milk. 2. Apply a tacrolimus 0.03 %ointment twice daily on it. 3. Take an iron supplement and vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 3 months. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid, levamisole taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
