Suggest Alternative Medicine For Honeymoon Cystitis

Hello. I am 25 years old and I suffer from honeymoon cystitis. The doctor suggested to take one Nitrofurantoin pill after intercourse as a preventative measure. However, I probably have an intolerance to this medication as I suffer from stomach ache and weakness immediately after taking it. Is there an alternative to nitrofurantoin that I can use? Thank you.

Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. For bladder infection, if you are intolerant to nitrofurantoin, you can take levofloxacin or ciprofloxacin will be useful.
2. Also need to take plenty of water to clear all infection and inflammation.
3. Go to urination during urges to avoid build up of urine.
4. Take proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole, if you have gastritis. Stomach ache and weakness could be due to gastritis.
