Suggest Alternative Remedy For Strong Stomach Pains

hi doctor ihave been taking atorvastatin for a nuber of years last year I stopped 2 months ago I started to take one 40mg every morning on the advice from my gp for the last 3 days I have been experiencing strong pains in my stomach it usually starts of an evening and I have to take co-codamal to stop the pain and enable me to sleep do you think I should stop taking this medication until I see my own gp I am a 67 year old male I do hope you can many thanks for your help and time T Kirby

Hello.
No harm done with missing a few doses of the atorvastatin until you can see your doctor, but it may not be a problem with the medication here, so if the stomach pain is severe you really should see a doctor about it for an evaluation since it could be a gall bladder problem or pancreatitis
