Suggest An Alternative Of Pristiq

I have been on several SSRIs which were initially helpful, but lost their effectiveness for me after awhile, so I switched to Pristiq, which I have taken for the past 3 years. Due to an increase in blood pressure, I want to try something else. Any suggestions, new drugs, etc?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Pristiq is mainly given for depression and it does not cause hypertension, (High blood pressure ).

Actually, you have not mentioned any clinical symptoms that you might be having, but the best substitute for Pristiq would be Amitriptyline, Fluoxetine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Akhtarhusain, General & Family Physician
