Suggest An Alternative Of Seroquel For The Treatment Of Bipolar Disorder

hello,
I was just prescribed seroquel for bi polar. I'm on the depressed vs. mania side. I read the side affects which are concerning. Any other recommendation with less side affects that have a proven history. Not a newer drug that doesn't have a generic. Tried Zyprexa - had side affects and this is the replacement

Seroquel is Quetiapine and is safe to use drug. Zyprexa is Olanzapine. Both are second generation anti-psychotic drugs and are known to cause metabolic side effects. You can try Risperidone which is similar drug and has good efficacy. Newer drugs like Lurasidone, Aripiprazole can be tried but these drugs are costly.
