Went to a LPN on 7/6/18 and diagnosis was sinus infection with brochitis. Was prescribed antibiotics (Z-Pack) & steriods. Swollen lymphs, bad cough, headache and fatigue is what i have. Still feel the same after taking the medication. When I called the LPN she stated I needed to come in again for re-evaluation. I feel I need a stronger antibiotic that works
Sinus infections are commonly caused by viruses which are treated symptomatically with pain relievers, nasal decongestants, and bed rest.
However, debilitating symptoms would entail a bacterial cause and will usually respond to antibiotics, for which the duration may be extended depending on the improvement of symptoms.
I suggest a follow up with your doctor for a possible extension of your antibiotic or probably shift it to another antibiotic.
He/she might as well give you pain relievers and decongestants which will help decongest your sinuses from secretions and help decrease your headache.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
