Suggest An Effective Dosage For Galvus Met
I have been taking Galvus Met 50/500 . One tablet for the day and thats after dinner.almost 2yrs.this morning my sugar showed 150 is it good to cont this dose.im not sure if i should take it in the morning and night before or after food.pl i seek ur advise as ASAP.

Noted your concern. GalvusMet is a combination of Vildagliptin and Metformin.
I must say that you have not reached an effective dose of either of vildagliptin or Metformin. You are only taking 50 mg vildagliptin and 500 mg Metformin .
Usually, i and most endocrinologists do not start a combination drug like GalvusMet in the beginning itself unless your blood glucose is too high to start with. Normal practice is to start with Metformin alone and increase the dose to 1500 to 2000 mg and if still sugars are high, then add Galvus. That is the standard recommendation. However, in some people with very high blood glucose, and if they are very overweight, we ay start with a combination drug like Galvusmet but at a decent dose of 50/500 twice daily and increase gradually to the dose of 50/1000 twice daily in most cases. Usual treatment dose of Galvus(vildagliptin) is 100 mg a day and that of Metformin is 1500 to 2000 mg a day in most cases. However, we may use Galvus 50 mg daily dose along with some drgs like Amaryl.
