Suggest Appropriate Dosage Of Predisone For Treatment Of Skin Allergy
I have found out that I am allergic to formaldehyde and gold, about three months ago. Now I was tested again and found out I am allergic to my hair color. Last August and again the beginning of December, I was given a 12 day supply of predisone.It eliminated the red and itchy eyelids for about one month and then after that my eyes itch so that I want to pull them out. What would be a safe script of predisone to have until I go to the #1 Dermotologist to be tested in April - earliest appt I could get?
You seem to suffer from allergic dermatitis. You may take oral steroid like methyl prednisolone 16 mg daily for a week, then taper it by refund 4 mg every week.
* 16 mg/d-1st week
* 12mg/d - 2 nd week
* 8mg/d - 3 rd week
* 4mg/d 4th week
* Then 4 mg alternate days for one month
* Then stop.
With this you take antihistaminics like desloratidine 5 mg daily.
