Suggest Asthma Controller That Does Not Have Side Effects
My daughter has been taking the asthma controller asmanex for a few weeks. She has developed painful mouth ulcers from it. Is there a controller that does not have this side effect? And what is a remedy? I read Nyastatin is. Can that prescription be taken long term?

I understand your concern.
The use of corticosteroid inhalers may lead to monilial infection of the mouth and pharynx.
Proper technique of inhalation and gargling the throat after inhalation will prevent the infection.
Nystatin and other antifungal medications may not be required. However if required Nystatin can be taken with minimal side effects.
