Suggest Benefits Of Kerosene Oil For Long Term Treatment Of Eczema
ive heard that kerosene oil is very good at curing long term eczema that is refractory to hydro-cortisone creams that have been applied for almost 5-7 years without any results, and have heard several others say that it has cured them of there eczema, could you possibly shed some light on the possible benefits or dangers of using kerosene oil in a safe and controlled environment. Thank you
hi. I have read your question and understand your concern.
eczema is a chronic condition which remits and relapses on its own, so there are a lot of misconceptions surrounding it. when the eczema remits on its own, people tend to associate it with some home remedy they have recently tried.
there are no well proven studies on efficacy of kerosene oil on eczema. in fact kerosene oil can lead to allergic/irritant contact dermatitis.
so my advice is to stay away from kerosene oil.
hydrocortisone is a very mild steroid, usually used for kids. I suggest you use a stronger steroid like betamethasone propionate ointment twice daily.
hope this helps. for any further questions please get back to us. thanks.
