Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Focalin XR is Methylphenidate and if she is not responding to treatment because of change to Generic medicine then in such case you should either start to give her Focalin XR again if possible or to take prescription of new drugs. Medicines like Clonidine, Attentrol, Risperidone etc can prove helpful for her ADHD symptoms. These medicines would result in improvement and are not much costly. Dextro-amphetamine is also other option for her. Discuss with her psychiatrist to start either of these drugs if insurance is not covering Focalin XR.

Thanks, Hope this helps you.
